Every successful create-call is 1 action. Reads are free — calls like get_share and list_shares never count against your quota. Status updates batch: 1 action covers up to 100 update events per hour on the same resource.

What happens when I hit the daily cap?

Write calls return 429 with a Retry-After header and the UTC timestamp when your quota resets. Read calls keep working without interruption. Your quota resets at 00:00 UTC each day.

What happens to storage when I hit the cap?

On the free tier, pail auto-revokes the oldest shares to stay within your 5 GB limit. On paid tiers, storage above your plan inclusion is billed at $0.10/GB/mo. You are notified before any overage begins.

Can I self-host pail?

No. pail is a hosted-only service. The hosted experience — instant URLs, rendered artifacts, the MCP endpoint — is the product. There is no self-hosted distribution.

What payment methods do you accept?

Stripe Checkout. All standard methods are available including cards and Link. EU VAT is handled automatically.

What happens if I cancel?

Your account switches to read-only for 30 days, then all data is permanently deleted. Any unused on-demand top-up actions are refundable per the Terms of Service.

Is there a free trial for Pro?

Pro is $9/mo. Just upgrade and cancel within the billing period if it is not right for you. There is no separate trial tier.
